If I think something is unjust I like to do something about it.
I don’t think we have to be heroes, I don’t think that’s what it’s about. There’s something about sticking your neck out and doing something that other people wouldn’t do. I wish everybody would do it, because that would make a massive difference.
I talk to people about sitting in the road, and they say “I couldn’t do that”. And every time I’m thinking: “I think you should”. I think I’ll say it in future: “I think you could”.
I was nervous in the run-up to it; the moment I sat down it felt different. But I burst into tears the moment someone said: “you’re very brave”.
I will do it again because I don’t believe anything will change otherwise.
Hypocrisy isn’t an argument; we’re all part of the system. Driving a car or flying doesn’t mean you can’t want to change the system. We have to use what impact we have to change things while, at the same time, not over-exploiting the planet.
