Some people think we’re taking away their liberties by advocating Green living. Wouldn’t it be nice if we could all sit down together and talk it through?
I’m constantly asking: is this justified? I look back on the heritage of activism; I wouldn’t be doing it if it didn’t have a chance of succeeding. If the government changed, and followed their own commitments, I wouldn’t be contemplating breaking the law.
I’m not doing it to signal my own virtue, I’m doing it because I have two little great nieces, and I want the future to be the best it can be for them. Although it’s going to be very different. I have a need to have a legacy, really, for them.
I don’t commit to everything, but what I commit to I try to do, accepting that I’m not going to be a key figure in the movement, but doing my bit to push it along.
