Bird watching is my thing. It gives me a direct visual correlation with what’s happening in the natural world: bird populations moving North, etc. I’ve always had that connection with Nature, but didn’t have the bandwidth to engage with the crisis. When I retired I had the bandwidth to really think about things, and do something about it.
I got a Just Stop Oil leaflet through the letterbox. I went to my first talk in May, and got arrested in October. I was nervous on my first road block, but I wasn’t fearful.
I think we’re seeing the death knell of Big Oil. But it’s going to be 5 years, or 20 years. Can we stop it before the various tipping points kick in? Whether I’ll see it in my lifetime or not is immaterial. It’s whether collectively, as a species, we manage to wean ourselves off our addiction to fossil fuels. And we’re getting there!Mark
